Napa Valley
Wine Country Tour
The casual tourist is easily overwhelmed in Napa. First, the Valley covers a large area. Most tourists drive the main roads, stopping only at the larger commercial wineries, and then retreat from adventure to familiar retail outlets in town, missing out on really interesting places.
Secondly, there are so many really interesting places in Napa Valley that knowing where to begin is a quandary. By searching the Internet and browsing promotional literature, one can find hundreds of vineyards, wineries, and restaurants catering to wine tourists. So, a good guide is helpful. Download this GPS tour of a guided trip with Napa Valley resident and wine aficionado Rick Ratliff.
Travel Tip: Take your camera as many of the
grounds surrounding the vineyards have picturesque gardens, extraordinary
vistas, and unique architecture.

Tour Route: This GPS tour guide is best followed in the order listed below. The tour includes a stop in Sonoma Valley. Returning to Napa Valley you may choose to go the mountain road (Trinity Road) over the Mayacamas range that separates the two Valleys. It's a very treacherous and curves and if anyone has an issue with car sickness I don't recommend going this route.
